$Over the past decade, Lee’s Chapel Baptist Church has experienced growth—spiritually and numerically. Throughout this growth Lee’s Chapel Baptist has maintained a heart for the world-wide work of God. Lee’s Chapel Baptist Church currently supports more than 30 missionaries who are taking the gospel of Christ throughout the world. These missionaries are supported through and sent by local independent Baptist churches. The members of Lee’s Chapel Baptist Church have made the financial support of global evangelization a high priority, and the church’s missions budget exceeds fifty thousand dollars.
In addition to foreign missions, Lee’s Chapel Baptist Church is continually involved in helping to establish new independent Baptist churches in the United States. The church frequently conducts foreign mission trips to train missionaries and national pastors and to establish churches on foreign fields. Also, our annual missions conference helps our entire church maintain a heart for world-wide missions.
Missions Philosophy
Our philosophy is simple, we have the same philosophy today that we have had since becoming involved in faith promise giving over ten years ago . It is based upon the commission given by Jesus Christ just prior to His ascension, recorded in many Scriptures (Matthew 28:19-20; Mark 16:15-20; Luke 24:44-53; John 20:21-23, 30-31; Acts 1:8-11).
Lee’s Chapel Baptist Church exists to Glorify God and to Evangelize the World. To fulfill the commission we must go where the people are and we must explain clearly the gospel of salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. Those that believe are to be added to the local church after being baptized by immersion, and then taught to be obedient to the Word of God.
We believe that the manner of fulfilling the Great Commission is through church planting. This is the story of the Acts of the Apostles. The epistles provide instruction to the churches concerning doctrine and practice. The pattern for the ministry of the missionary-evangelist established in the New Testament is that the man arrives in a place where there is not a church, plants a church, turns it over to local leadership, and goes to another place to begin the process again. The missionary-evangelist properly has an on-going relationship with the churches, but he is not to remain in one church filling the office of the pastor.
We understand the role and function of the missionary-evangelist to be different from that of the pastor. A man called to be a pastor will remain in one church for a long time. While there he will seek to do the work of an evangelist by sending out men from his congregation to be either missionary-evangelists or pastors.
Missions Conferences
The Missions Conference is a very important time at Lee’s Chapel Baptist Church. It gives us an opportunity to lift our eyes, to see beyond our own horizon, and to catch a glimpse of the rest of the world through the eyes of the missionary-evangelists participating in the Conference. It is a joy on each occasion to meet and get to know some of God’s chosen men and women and to hear them share their hearts with us about the work of the Lord.
2015
Continuing our missions program that has already been in place and recording our past so that we might be reminded of those that the Lord has brought through our doors we were blessed to have the following with us for this year:
Japan, Ukraine, Reformers Unanimous, Anchor of Hope Girls home, and Bible and Literature Missionary Foundation (printing ministry). Our keynote preacher was Pastor Joel Logan. We were able to add to our missions program Will and Rebel Hill from Japan.
2016
Giving saw an unprecedented 91% of our commitment made and over $46,000.00 given for the cause of Christ. This does not include any private giving in support of our staff missionaries for their ministries! We had presenting their ministries, missionaries from South Korea, Brazil, Indonesia, Uganda, and Rock of Ages Prison Ministry. We were able to add to our missions program Nate and Kate Nichols to Brazil
2017
This year we have pledged $53,000.00 and are trusting God to see more ministries supported and missionaries partnered with. We have added this year two more missionaries to bring our running total to 30 supported works. Over the past year we had many to visit to include missionaries from:
China, Ireland, and church planting missionaries with Independent Baptist Friends of Alabama. We added to our program a missionary to China.
2018
This year we have enjoyed our annual conference with friends and missionaries from: Turkey, Ecuador, Australia, Syria, and Mexico. We pledged $54,000.00. Our program saw an expansion to all five major continents. We added Indonesia and Australia to our missions profile.
2019
We were blessed to have Bro. Chad Bailey preach our conference. We pledged $56,000.00 to our missions program and were floored at what God is doing with us. Our visitors for this years’ conference consisted of Nigeria, Ghabon, Romania, Syria, and Jordan. We also were able to host some of our friends Publish or Perish Printing Ministry and There’s Hope a helps ministry for missionaries, preachers and Christians that need a break and help. We added Ghabon and Jordan to our missions program.
2020
Pastor Tony Howeth was our keynote preacher for this years’ conference. We had an exciting time meeting our guest missionaries from Finland, Iceland, Canada, Mexico and Hays Clear Water ministry. We had $43,720.00 committed for world evangelism. We were able to provide support for special projects along the way throughout the year.
2021
Pastor Austin Gardner helped us to continue our missions program by challenging us to “Hold the Rope” for our missionaries. Due to COVID we had to reschedule our annual conference to May. The greatest thing we can brag about when it comes to our Lord is that He enabled us to continue supporting our missionaries and we did not have to miss our monthly support for any of them! We hosted missionaries to Ghana, Mozambique, Honduras, and South Korea.
